The spring garden show was great. There were many tempting things to see and enjoy. The market was lovely. There were many garden sculptures. I have been looking for a nice St. Francis. He is the patron saint of birds and animals. I haven't found one that I really liked until I was at Monticello. He is now in my garden. I enjoyed a short overnight visit with my daughter and her hubby. It was very nice to get away from home.
I went out junking today, and I found a great yellow ware Green Pitcher. It is stamped on the bottom into the clay base. It is heavy, and has no defects, chips, or other flaws. Fabulous! A Great Find! A low price of course, at Goodwill. It is already on display with my other USA pottery collection.
We are happy to have another calf born to our Dexter Cattle this spring. She is doing well, 24 hrs old. We will keep the mama cow and calf inside a barn stall for several days. We want to ensure that both of them are doing well. It is kind of exciting because this is the 1st time that we have had 3 small calves at the same time.

Sisters on the Fly had a huge gathering in Roundtop, Texas last weekend, at the Junk Gypsies, of course that distance is a long, long, long, trip for me. I have an upcoming trip in mind. However, it is dependent on the weather.
I found this cute small (3"x 4.5") frame at a junk store. I made it mine with a new pic and a broken jewelry bit. Some command strips will attached this to the wall of Prairie Flower. Take are everyone, we will have better weather sometime soon!
Today, I wanted to look up this quote in one of my Pooh books. I was surprised what my research found. This quote is from a 1997 Disney movie. Bummer!

A.A. Milne Would Never Write That!

“If ever there is tomorrow when we’re not together… there is something you must always remember. You are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think. But the most important thing is, even if we’re apart… I’ll always be with you.”
It’s a touching quote, and a favorite on Facebook. It is attributed to A.A. Milne, the author of the Winnie-the-Pooh books, as the words of Christopher Robin to his best friend Winnie-the-Pooh.
Now, I’ve always felt that this quote didn’t feel quite right – as the words of A.A. Milne, or for that matter, of six-year-old Christopher Robin. Yet when I Googled it, site after site confirmed the attribution.
Finally I took out the book from which it is supposed to have been taken, The House at Pooh Corner. At the end of the book, Christopher Robin realizes he is growing up and says goodbye to his animal friends.
Here is the actual and utterly brilliant valedictory exchange between Christopher Robin and Pooh, as written by Milne.
“I’m not going to do Nothing any more.”
“Never again?”
“Well, not so much. They don’t let you.”
Pooh waited for him to go on, but he was silent again.
“Yes, Christopher Robin,” said Pooh helpfully.
“Pooh, when I’m – you know – when I’m not doing Nothing, will you come up here sometimes?”
“Just Me?”
“Yes, Pooh.”
“Will you be here too?”
“Yes Pooh, I will be, really. I promise I will be, Pooh.”
“That’s good,” said Pooh.
“Pooh, promise me you won’t forget about me, ever. Not even when I’m a hundred.”
Pooh thought for a little.
“How old shall I be then?”
“Ninety-nine.”
Pooh nodded.
“I promise,” he said.
Still with his eyes on the world Christopher Robin put out a hand and felt for Pooh’s paw.
“Pooh,” said Christopher Robin earnestly, “if I – if I’m not quite –“ he stopped and tried again – “Pooh, whatever happens, you will understand, won’t you?”
“Understand what?”
“Oh, nothing.” He laughed and jumped to his feet. “Come on!”
“Where?” said Pooh.
“Anywhere,” said Christopher Robin.”
So where did the Facebook favourite come from? A clever writer at Disney, of course, in a 1997 direct-to-video called Pooh’s Grand Adventure: The Search for Christopher Robin. Don’t rush out to buy this forgotten classic – Rotten Tomatoes gives it a rating of 38%, and frankly it sounds ghastly.
But here’s the point. A.A. Milne was a writer who knew that it’s more powerful to show than to tell. He shows us two young friends trying to find their way through a thicket of unexpected emotion, using the simple words of small children. The Disney writer, afraid we might miss the point of their undying friendship, takes out a verbal sledge hammer and hits us over the head with it.
Which one works best? Well, the Disney piece is ideal for Facebook—sentiment neatly tied up with a bow. But Milne’s words make me cry every time I read them.
I managed to escape from home today. Yay!!! I got a lovely pedicure with a pretty red color. I stopped by the junk jewelry store and picked up some bits of broken jewelry to play with. I also got a $2 dollar, 3 strand bracelet to use for a base, to remake with some things...into a completely unique, for me, bracelet. I find that it is better to start with ready made jewelry that has good "bones" and change it. I could go to hobby store and buy all the parts, but it would cost $20.
I took a pic of my pretty daffodil's today. These are tiny dwarf blooms, in a pot, in the garden. A happy spring flower that I love. I am having a little difficulty coming out of winter hibernation. The weather is still pretty bad...raining all the time. Many days I have trouble getting up in the morning, because I stay up late at night. I am struggling with this.

Just find a bunch of ole junk jewelry, and a trophy. Add some E6000 glue, creativity and very quickly... a fun personal trophy. This is only 4" tall and can be used many ways.
