Southwest Stacker Cuffs

Monday, February 1, 2021

This photo shows part of my collection of SW sterling and gemstone stacker cuffs.  I started my collection about 2008, and I purchased many sterling cuffs for $1.99 and $2.99. I really like a bargain ! ! I have had so much fun searching for these, and now after handling and inspecting probably hundreds of pieces, I easily identify quality items.

This was a long time before thrift stores started pricing really high.

Most of my collection is marked 925 or Sterling. And many also have a markers marked.

I would like to find another one, featuring an amethyst. Looking for one close to this one.

This may be hard to believe......all have been purchased from thrift stores. The cuff on the left is a recent purchase, only about $20 for all that beautiful stone work.

Tip # 1. A tip for you. Most jewelry marked 925 and Taxico, or Mexico.....Avoid ! ! These are silver plated, and not worth much. Also, look for the base metal color peaking thru the silverplate.

Tip #2. Handle the items, look carefully, buy yourself a jewelers loupe to see small marks and defects. Self educate and if you can find a person with knowledge to help - all the better. Ask sellers about things, if you do find any sellers in person. They are usually very knowledgeable about their items. Not Goodwill, they know nothing.
