The Struggle is Real

I've been talking to lots of people lately who are experiencing anxiety, depression and debilitating fear and grief for maybe the first time in their life in this way.
How are YOU doing? Are you finding yourself feeling unhinged, unmoored, unraveling?
It helps to know you're not the only one.
These are strange times. I hope you'll talk about it. It helps to not keep it inside, letting it bully you into thinking you're crazy or bad or not grateful or cheerful or strong enough.
So tell me...how are you doing and what is helping?
Nature always helps me. Babies and children and animals do too. And creating something. And trying to help someone else to get me out of my own head.
I think we lose hope when we keep thinking things are going to get better or easier or more predictable. Here's something that is ALWAYS true though....
Things in our world MIGHT NOT get better or easier or more predictable for a good long while, maybe not even in our lifetime.
BUT WE CAN GET STRONGER.
WE CAN LEARN NEW WAYS TO MANAGE THE STRESS.
WE CAN CHANGE OUR PERSPECTIVE.
WE CAN CHANGE OUR FOCUS and start to not just look at things differently that we've been looking at most of our lives...But WE CAN START LOOKING AT DIFFERENT THINGS.
Things WILL GET BETTER if we do this. Things might not get better on their own though, they might even get "worse." But as long as we each are getting stronger, we can stay ahead of the getting worse. So things will get better in a different way than we thought they would. Instead of waiting, we make it happen.
But if today, all you can do is breathe, that is enough.
Just know there are better days ahead, filled with better ways to get better. Better days are coming because better ways are coming.
