Make Yourself a Special Lampshade

Wednesday, June 1, 2022

Yesterday, I ran away from home. I went into my favorite vintage shop. Many of the vendors sell new merchandise, but, some are more into the old stuff. This vendor makes many of her items, although that will not last long. She died about a year ago. Her daughter continues to sell in the booth, with the things that I personally like.

I saw this lampshade and it caught my eye. It has been crafted, with vintage linen and lace. It is really pretty simply made. Old pieces are used on the top and bottom, recycled and hand sewn onto the frame. The middle strips and ripped to width and rapped around the frame. When the lamp is turned on, the middle pieces are transparent and shows the different fabrics very nicely. This probably took many hours to create. Too much for me, and my arthritic hands.
