This is today's Facebook photo from Sisters on the Fly. Oh....how I wish that I was there. I love to dutch oven cook.
The local group here often had tables laden with ovens just like this photo.
Alas, the local group has not cooked together since before COVID lockdown. The group ceased before that because of conflicts.
1. One of the committee's husband wanted everything his way. Meaning that he wanted to be king and veto ideas and he refused to compromise. Therefore, it was difficult to plan anything. (He is no longer in the area...)
2. And there was me, I didn't want to promote the monthly cookouts, far and wide. We had just had an open invitation. Why? We had so many people showing up, just for free food, that we often didn't have enough food. I am fine with members bringing invited guests. I was concerned about liability when this happened.
3. Price of putting this monthly gathering together. Logistics too.
4. Overall leadership.
I am looking for others who also like to cook outdoors with campfire Dutch Ovens. I wish that the Quartzsite AZ gathering was close enough for me to go, it is only 1500 miles one way.
