Smile! Say hello to people! Say “thank you” to cashiers and service workers.
We are all working on our self-esteem and our happiness. Demonstrating positive vibes not only helps you to feel a sense of groundedness, connectedness and safety in the external world, but also signals this message to others. Just by saying hello, or smiling at a stranger, you can alter your own, and their brain chemistry so that everyone feels a little bit safer inside of their own body
When your muscles and your brain say that you’re happy, you’re more likely to see the world around you in a positive way. Smiling stimulates the amygdala which releases neurotransmitters to encourage an emotionally positive state. We can literally trick our brain into perceiving stimuli as happy and use this to boost our mental health, and help make the world a nicer place.
