Oregon Dept of Transportation has closed Hwy 58. There are currently 4 active slides across the highway. The narrow gravel road on the other side of the river is under 4' of water from flooding. There are bridges closed due to high water. The forest services roads are closed by snow, flooding, and land slides. There was 4.8" of rain over the weekend in Oakridge. I am happy that I was not in Eugene when this happened. The only way home was a 5 hour detour through Central Oregon. My home is on high ground and there is no chance of flooding. The electric power is still on and my Kindle is full of books. I hope the road is open soon, or we will be driving to Bend (2hrs) for shopping.
