I love Romanesco broccoli. Its lime-green heads with conical florets are very pretty. Romanesco requires nearly 100 days to maturity. Romanesco is an Italian heirloom with a nutty flavor and is a popular vegetable in fine restaurants.
I get the plant starts early as possible because the long growing season that is needed. The starts can handle colder temps, even a light freeze this time of year. It can be hard to find these plants, however, this year I got mine. I planted 18 of them. The taste is outstanding and I do freeze the extra to enjoy during the winter.
Highly recommended by me!!!!!!!!!!!!!
