I spent about 6 hours today canning home grown pears. This is a bowl of the Bartlett Pears that I have...and many more in boxes.
The weather was simply rainy all day, and this is a good time to get some chores and canning done.
I love the taste and texture of my home grown/canned pears. So Good! All the work is time consuming and the result was just 16 pints.
The pear crop was very small, due to a hard frost on May 5th.
I will enjoy them, and savor every jar.
