Elk After Dark

Thursday, January 9, 2020

They come after dark.
In the winter snow.
They dig for food.
See with your own eyes.

Three, huge antlered elk.
Like ghosts in the night.
Quiet, silent.

This happened to me before,
 when there was plenty
of moonlight to throw a shadow. There
was one elk. He was huge, and had
enormous antlers. I never see them
during the day.
