A long time ago, I was a girl who looked much like this. Redhead with green eyes and so many freckles. Those were the days!! I didn't realize that I was attracting attention, and it was much later that I understood. There was both good and bad attention, discrimination from many sources. Even my maternal grandmother.... Eventually, I became aware and found that those stupid people were ignorant idiots.
Now, back to my eyes. The color has changed over my lifetime and is now much darker. I developed cataracts in my eyes and then I couldn't pass the DMV eye test last fall.
I have had the surgery to remove the cataracts, and I am recovering. My vision is slowly improving. I will need another procedure on both eyes to get the best vision possible.
The reason is that I had Lasik about 14 years ago, and my eyes were reshaped for good vision. Many people in my situation need this procedure...not uncommon.
I am patient and it is a longer recovery for me. It is disappointing because most people have good vision within a few days.
