The farm crop is grass hay. 2020 turns out to be the outstanding crop year, for all 20 years of making hay. There was a total of 1034 hay bales...the most ever!
A normal year will be about 600 bales. 2019 hay crop was only 400 bales, due to the drought we had all spring.
The best good news is the old man crap....he has finally realized that he cannot do the work any longer. A local cattleman is needing hay, and this provides an opportunity for us. He will take over the work, and will get the hay crop. YAY!!!
Not to say that the old man will not have extreme anxiety any more...I think that he will. We normally have had extreme conflict over the hay work. This year I stayed out of it, he would sink and swim by himself.
I am very happy that the hay crop worked out this well, and that there is a solution for the inability to do this work any longer. This is part of the aging in place solution, so we are able to stay on our beloved 10 acre farm.
