Mount St. Helens erupted at 8:32 AM on May 18, 1980.
I was a young women at the time, just 5 years after
my graduation from University of Oregon.
It was a nice, quiet, weekend morning.
Then the eruption broke the quiet...
I heard the loud boom, and the house
shook. I was about 200 miles from
Mount St Helens.
