I found out the background information on this blanket. NO, not soviet at all, not European at all. This vintage blanket was made in the USA. The blanket was made in Stayton Oregon.
Records of a small woolen mill located in Stayton, Oregon, which operated from the late 19th to the late 20th centuries and produced primarily blankets and clothing fabrics. Blankets were produced from late 1880's to 1970's. The materials were created by mill owner John W. Etzel and his son Elmer Etzel. The wool came from local sheep growers in that area.
The mills produced blankets for government agencies, universities, and well as for retail sales.
The mill closed in 1982, and the buildings were demolished about 1990.
This mill had several names, the last one was Paris Woolen Mill.
