I found this cooler at a thrift store. Made in the USA! 67 years old! When I looked it over, I determined the condition to almost perfect. A few minor scratches on the exterior, and inside was perfect. It was used very little and stored somewhere warm and dry.
I checked its value, and I was nicely surprised. Online they were $50 to $100. Surprised, I wanted it!
I knew that it would not sell, people buy the newer plastic coolers that are cheap ($5-8).
It would be 1/2 price in two days!! I decided to wait the two days, and I was there when the store opened.
Sold to me, for $15. I am using it in Prairie Flower for food. When food is stored in it their are no attractions for rodents. Clothing is also safe.
I really closed off entry places for rodents to get in, and upped my storage arrangements. Food into metal or inside refrigerator, and clothing into plastic bins.
This was 3 years ago, and there have not been rodents, no signs! Great. I hate waking at night to their sounds.
I have some new additions to the trailer. I am adding stronger security to the door, motion sensors, and alarms. Maybe an exterior camera or two.
I get so thrilled when this happens! Karma!
