Vintage Dutch Girl Vase - Find of the Week

Wednesday, August 21, 2019

I found this cutie at a Goodwill. I thought that this pottery was maybe Shawnee.
The painting is similar to many Shawnee cookie jars.

I found an ebay seller that had this information. The maker is DeLee of California. The interesting detail about this pottery is that it is not a planter. The small opening is just for flowers. A tiny posy is just the right size.

Vintage DeLee Dutch Girl and Boy Pottery Vase Planters California Hand Painted 1940's.

DeLee was a California pottery company from the 1940s and 50s. They are well known for their vibrant colors and their long eyelashes.

They are hand painted with vibrant blue, green, violet and brown. It is marked on the base with the artist's slash marks. Also there is a slight impression which looks like a C in a circle. The sticker from the manufacturing is still attached.
