A few days ago, we experienced a rare wind! The wind was very strong gusts from the east, weird!
Oh Yeah! My 2 patio umbrellas took off. One just toppled over and barely missed breaking one of our new windows. The other umbrella was not securely attached to the heavy base. This one went up in the air, straight up like this one, and over the house at about 40'. I watched from inside, it happened so fast that I could not get a photo. It hit the ground intact, and still open! I ran out to grab it before it took off again. Unbelievable! The story ends with the umbrella is securely attached to the heavy stand...and it did not break. It pays to purchase good quality metal umbrellas. I was the only witness!
