Ranch Farmgirl, Shery, has written a blog post that I find to be inspirational. Shery has a way with words that is exceptional. Please read her blog Ranch Farmgirl, Daughters of America. My heart is saddened by the path our great nation is taking, and she expressed it very well.

I am sharing these 3 cute cards with you. It is my birthday today. I'm not sure my parents were rejoicing 61 yrs ago...they probably wanted a boy. I was a red haired girl child, tiny at 5 lbs 6-8 oz, and not very pretty. I have always liked my name, and am happy to be a middle child. I treasure each day, and am happy for my life..here in the USA, an American. Hubby made my waffles and bacon for breakfast. I have practiced my ukulele, strumstick, and guitar today. I went junking. I had chocolate chip cookies! The weather is frightful...normal on this day of the year. Dreaming of the vintage travel trailer that I will find...and of glamping in the summer.
I want this book! The blog Bluebird Notes posted about this book today. She made a pretty floor mat from the directions in the book. There are several ideas in the book that appeal to me. Here is a link to Bluebird Notes so that you may enjoy her post.

I just learned about the names given to each full moon. Tonight is the Full Wolf Moon, the January moon. The namesake is of course the hungry wolves howling centuries ago. I am glad that I don't have that experience here. Goodnight to all of you.

I am teaching myself to play a tiny soprano ukulele. It is hard to finger chords on the small neck. Tonight, the local ukulele club has their once a week meeting. Some or most of the people are really into this hobby. This I know for sure...I am the only person there playing a $10 uke. They all have high quality tenor ukulele's...read expensive. Boy, those ukes sound great, and sure are pretty! I learned really quickly, and the thing is the chords are completely different from a guitar. I messed up by reverting to the guitar fingerings, sometimes. You know what, they are really welcoming and I had fun. I know that this club is good for me.

I have been looking for a ukulele at thrift stores for several months. I found one of these! For $10, a great deal. I tuned it, and now the teaching myself begins. There is a Ukulele group in my small town, and you know that I will be attending their gatherings once a week. This is a fun activity and I am happy to be able to join.

I went to a home show today that featured Sisters on the Fly. Three gals had their vintage trailers on display and I was excited to see everything. I found out that there are many local gals that are active members and camp together several times each year. I also want to join the Farmgirls on the Loose, who do the same thing. I think that the community of like minded gals is a good thing for me.
The obstacle is a light trailer to use. Hubby and I own a large travel trailer - cabin on wheels. The trailer is large, very nice and heavy. It takes a large pickup to haul. BTW, hubby will not be separated from his Toyota Tundra. I want something light and just right for me. My SUV is outfitted with a towing package, so it has the capability. Hum...wish me luck. If you any of you are active members I would love to hear from you.

I was out junking again, my weakness.......I found this vintage 1930 - 1940 pottery pitcher. The price was too much, even at the thrift store. I like to get bargains, Yes, I like my collection to be reasonably priced. I went home and looked for this unmarked pitcher in my McCoy Pottery Book. I had a hunch about it....there were two sizes of this ball pitcher. Book value was about $40-$80. The thrift store put it on 1/2 off sale this week...and of course I got it for a good price. Yippy! A great addition to my USA Pottery collection, and it looks very pretty in the green corner cupboard with all the other colored pottery.

Brave Girls Club starts a brand new, first time offered class, next week. I am excited to be starting the class. This class is called Wings...it is about making art of butterflies, winged things (think boots and hearts) and birds. There are 6 lessons, released every two weeks. The fun thing is that this class is very low priced at $99. I like that I can choose to do all the lessons or only the ones that I really like. This is something fun to do during the long winter here...and I can stay right here in my cozy studio. If you think that you might be interested, check it out Brave Girls Club Wing Sessions
