Born to Soar

Have you started following the Brave Girls Club?  They give me wonderful messages every single day. I credit Melody and Kathy for assisting me to find my path for this time of my life.  I am a stronger, brave person....a person who can take care of my own needs, and follow my direction. I highly recommend just getting the free daily emails.

It is Time to Come Out and Play

The Aloha Trailer on the left is mine! The Terry on the right is the big one Hubby and I use together. The sizes are very different 13 feet compared to 27 feet. The big Terry is a cabin on wheels.

Today, I hooked up my 1963 Aloha (Prairie Flower) and took her out of the shop for the first time this year.  I needed to go inside and take care of a few things. I stored my camping gear inside her during the off some things are not needed for the weekend and came out for right now. I still need to check the tires for proper inflation. I used to stop by the local tire center and the young men there would do this....but no more, the place is shuttered...closed. I do not have water tanks, so no checking water lines or un-winterizing them.

I cleaned and made up the bed with fresh linens last fall. I washed all the dishes, etc. and stored them inside plastic totes last fall. I put all the food in a plastic tote inside the house.

I had two incidents with one mouse, each time, last summer...and there is no sign of any rodents now.  This is good, because I spent time last summer to close up any tiny place where there might be entry. I am hopeful that it is a success. It is a big deal, to trap them and then cleanup the whole trailer and get under the trailer to find any spot that might be an entry place. I know that both times the mouse got inside while parked in the shop.

Well, I hope that I got it done....but, I still have two mouse traps stored under the sink, in case. The Girl Scout Motto, Be Prepared.  I didn't have any traps with me at the time...and none of my Camptown Girls had any with them. It was a bummer! I had to travel to the nearest town to get some. I did not care to hear one mouse running around when I was trying to sleep. To tell you the truth the first night I heard something, but wasn't sure. The second night the noise was more and I knew. I trapped it on the third night. I really don't want that experience again................ugh. When I removed all the copper pipes, there were holes between cabinets and that was a perfect spot for the mouse to move thru, these are now all covered with metal screwed into place. I also found three holes to the exterior that went through the floor. These are currently covered with metal and screws holding them in place, inside and outside.....I am not taking any chances. (You know what....I did not have this happen during the summer 2013. This is why I was shocked last summer.)

Backyard Birdfeeding - American Goldfinch

These small birds are one of my favorites that come to my feeders. They have such a brilliant yellow summer plumage that is amazing. A flock of them have just returned to my farm. I watched them for awhile, a pretty song, and now I know why some people call them "wild canary".  They eat thistle seed from a speciality feeder, and some black oil sunflower seeds.

Getting Ready for Glamping

I have been actively looking for a small use able marshmallow tin.....haven't found one yet.

This red petticoat is going to my glamping sale....size small/medium. Too small.

This green metal chest cooler is extra, and 2 matching water coolers. Selling these...

This weekend the Indulge Campout is going to be a big group of 35 ladies with 32 trailers...we are bringing along the extra Glamping stuff that we would like to sell or trade. I have extra vintage kitchen dishes. Extra vintage coffeepots, and some pans. There are 2 new outdoor umbrellas, and other vintage stuff too. I hope to sell or trade the extra things.

Getting Through This Time

From Brave Girls Club

Many times, life throws us into a battle. These are times that test us, teach us, strengthen us, and show us what we are made of.

Sometimes life shows us the strength that we have. The important thing is to move forward, keep moving, keep learning, keep hoping, keep believing, keep smiling. Things have always worked out. Things will continue to work out. Be brave, dear girl.

I am the bigger person.....

I have given the situation to the Lord. He is in charge and will help. This eases my heart. I will not be controlled, but I will give it prayer.

Wisdom, Courage, and Dignity

I had to make a decision. I am walking away from my sister. I told her that I forgave her for what she did. Nothing changed. I am brave, strong, courageous, wise and will not be abused. Maybe at some time things will change, my heart is open...and I forgive her.

Only 16 days until the first Glamping Trip of 2015

I am very excited for the first trip. I will have to tow Prairie Flower about 50 miles. My friend Debbi from Vintage Women with Trailers (an Oregon group), own a small farm with her hubby. This is the third time that they have hosted this event at their lovely farm. They are wonderful, and generous to invite us to come for a weekend. The farm is beautiful, and they share it with us.

There are 24 women planning to bring their vintage trailers, a good number I think. I hope to find some gals who I would like to camp with. I have been on a camping trip with this group when 40 women attended.

This group usually goes to expensive RV parks with full hook-ups. I like a more rustic camping experience, and a less costly one. This is good and bad....the good is that there are no fees, dues, meetings, etc. Each gal is responsible for her own reservations and payments. The bad is that I really do not care for the RV resort parks, although I admit that they are safer and that is important.

The highlight of the weekend will be attending the spring Old Farmhouse Sale. This open air sale is free and very fun. There are great vendors and a good time for us.

Yellowstone Souvenirs

I went out and about junking today....and look at these finds.  Two Yellowstone Souvenir plastic bowls. I think that they are from the late 1950's to the early 1960's. Very unique, and fun for putting into a vintage trailer.  I think that these would look great in a cabin themed room, or the hunters cave (the basement).

DIY Solar Light Project

This is a great, inexpensive, easy, and unique project. I am making one asap, I have the glass part here at home and need the solar light.

The idea is from Shanty Insanity Blog, and here is the link Garden Lights. She shows how to make the lights, step-by-step.

A Pretty Table

I just love this vintage tablecloth and enamelware dish....don't you?  Today is Easter, and I hope that this post finds all my readers doing well.  Yesterday, Hubby and I made a 12 hour drive and today finds us tired and needing rest. We are having a quiet today around the farm. Takin' it easy.....
