I spent all day yesterday working in my garden. I did a lot of clean-up and did get my garlic planted.  Then today....Mary Jane shares a post about growing your own garlic. I think that garlic is the easiest thing to grown! I grow it in a 4' x 4' square raised bed. I like to use my small mini-tiller to till the amended soil in my raised beds. It works like a dream, and is small, light, and easy to use. I will tell you sometime how I got hubby on board with that purchase...well... how about now. He has a distinct favorite in his manly equipment, so I just took him to said dealer...and got just what I wanted!

A French Coffee Pot!

YES!  Just look at this beauty!! OK, where did I find it you ask.... in the Antique District in Redmond Oregon. Who would guess that I would go into cowboy country and find French antiques. The biggest surprise was that I had many to select from, at least a dozen. Then I looked at everyone of them to find the one for me. Condition was very important because I will use it, then style and color. There were two that were in great condition, the other one was white and had good style. Alas, the shaded blue with the long spout won me over. The inside was slightly tea stained, but a little scrubbing with sugar cleaned it up. Hurrah! The price was so reasonable...as opposed to the prices I saw a month ago. So...Lorri, thank you for your offer to find one in Paris, but as you can see I have one now.

Sisters Oregon...where else would you see this house!

I think that I stopped my SUV in the middle of the street when I saw this house last weekend. Jaw dropping fun! Then I parked and went back to get this photo to show you. I love the landscape design on this house. Just look at that real canoe up on the second floor, used as a window box...and those are real canoe paddles up there too. The use of pavers instead of the normal front lawn (very low maintenance), and the cut out paddle shapes for the fence. The gate is lovely. This is probably someone's second vacation home, there are many in this area. The home and outside are very well maintained. Wonderful, and unique!!  It may be in a magazine sometime...

Men and Facial Hair Grooming

What are they thinking???? The guy on the right is at his step-son's wedding. Well, he is dressed much better than I usually see him.  But the long beard is totally horrible. What is he thinking?  It has been like this for a long time, so I guess that is as long as the thing will grow.  I just have this impulse to take a pair of scissors....and you know....cut it off. A nicely trimmed beard is so much better. BTW, I think that he got a hair cut for the wedding. This is just a rant, I need to get over it.
